Welcome to my website
Parents sometimes put their child in front a television so they don't have to watch them. Too much video games and television are not good for the child. Their minds have yet to fully develop so they need the guidance to show them what they should be playing and watching. If they have all that violence in their lives it will impact them greatly. At such a young age the violence they see they tend to portray. If they become violent it could affect their behavior and academics. Their behavior could become worse and act out at school.
Watching too much television takes away from other activities. A child needs exercise and needs to be outside sometimes. Some shows portray unhealthy habits aimed toward young children. These unhealthy habits can easily be picked up by a child. Children watch cartoons, which conatin violence as well. If they watch violent or aggressive shows they will continue to watch them as they grow older, affecting them along the way.
Video games can become addictive, especially to a child. Games are now more realistic and violent due to some of the graphics shown. When playing a video game a child may isolate themselves. They may want to be alone and not with others. A video game can overtake a child's mind by them just focusing on the game.
Parents need to be aware of the effects of video games and television. If their focused on video games and television it takes away schooling as well. If they see something they tend to mimic which can lead to bad behavior. Parents should pay close attention to the ratings. Limit the amount of time spent and know the content. They may portray the wrong values and show violence. Unless the video game or television show is educational I would recommend viewing the content first. If it is not educational or helpful to the child then it doesn't benefit them it just hurts them in the long run.
